Day 1: Arrival – West Kilimanjaro
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met by your driver and transferred to your
lodge. Settle into your accommodation, ready to start your safari journey proper in the morning.
Day 2: Kilimanjaro
Today you set off towards Mount Kilimanjaro for an awesome hike. Drive to the Moram Barrier,
where your hike to the spectacular Shira Plateau starts. It will take about 1.5 hours to reach the
Shira Plateau, which is located on the slopes of the Kilimanjaro. This plateau stretches out over
13 kilometers and shows the remains of a volcanic crater. This hike on the base of Kilimanjaro
will give you an excellent view of this highest mountain in Africa. Later that day you will hike
back to the Moram Barrier and return to your accomodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Monduli
This morning you drive early to Tengeru coffee farm in Arusha for a coffee tour. Coffee is one
of the main cash crops in Tanzania and here you will get a detailed explanation about coffee
from growing it on the farm, processing it until you can get to taste it. Later you continue your
journey to Meserani Snake Park in Monduli, where you can see and learn about snakes and other
reptiles that live in Africa. You will then visit a Maasai museum then take a camel ride to the
nearby Maasai village. The Maasai people will welcome you with a special dance that is
normally sung during circumcision ceremonies. You will then visit a Maasai school and a
traditional Maasai medicine man (Most Maasai will still use herbs to cure lots of different
diseases. In the late afternoon, you will continue to your accommodation for dinner and
overnight.
Day 4: Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast, you drive to Tarangire National Park with packed lunch for a game
drive. This lovely park boasts the largest concentrations of elephants in the world and the highest
number of breeding bird species. Especially during the dry season, Tarangire National park is
packed with wildlife. Big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, but also the seldom seen Kudu,
Oryx, and Gerenuk. The Tarangire River draws huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, as
well as predators who prey upon them. Later in the afternoon, you drive for dinner to Tarangire
Safari Lodge. After dinner, you will enjoy a 2-hour night game drive in the park. This is a great
opportunity to discover nocturnal animals like porcupines, pangolin, aardvark, and others.
Overnight will be at Mto Wa Mbu near to Lake Manyara.
Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park
In the morning you drive to the farming town Mto wa Mbu for a bike ride to Lake Manyara.
Cycle to the lakeshore where there are stunning vistas of the lake, the Rift Valley, and small
herds of wildlife. After 2 to 3 hours you hop in the safari vehicle to continue for a game drive
in Lake Manyara National Park. This park is known for its huge soda lake filled with pink-hued
flamingos, a large population of baboons, incredible birdlife, and breathtaking views. You can
see giraffes, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, flamingos, and if you are lucky you spot a tree-
climbing lion. In the late afternoon, you drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you drive to the famous Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival in the Serengeti,
you first have a picnic lunch and then continue with a beautiful and exciting game drive in the
park. Serengeti is famous for the abundance of lions, leopards, and cheetahs that can usually be
seen quite easily. Game viewing in this central area of Serengeti is spectacular all year round.
Enjoy the views of endless plains and stunning wildlife like hyenas, jackals, elephants, giraffes,
hippos, crocodiles, ostrich, aardvark, pangolin, and many more. In the late afternoon, you will
continue to your camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Serengeti National Park
Today you will have a full day of game viewing in the Serengeti national park with picnic lunch,
with early departure looking for active predators and other wildlife. Enhance your safari
experience by flying in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti plains at sunrise. Spot wildlife below
when you float over the beautiful African savannah. A magical experience with wonderful
panoramic views (this can be arranged at an extra cost). If you want to spot the Big Five – lion,
elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo- all in one park, then Serengeti is the best place for that. In
the late afternoon, you will return to your camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Serengeti National Park (central)
Today you will depart at 06:00 am for early morning game drive. You will later have picnic
breakfast saved in the bush, and then continue with another morning game drive. You will return
to the camp for hot lunch and a little siesta, and then depart for afternoon game drive. You will
return to your camp for a shower, then meet again with your guide at the fireplace for a drink and
a short history of Tanzania. On a clear night, this is a great opportunity to learn about the African
night sky. Dinner and overnight will be at the same accommodation.
Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater
Today you set off towards the Ngorongoro Crater for your last game drive. It shelters close to
30.000 animals including the Big Five. The crater teems with zebras, buffaloes, lions,
wildebeest, warthogs, baboons, elephants, flamingos, ostriches, hippos, cheetahs, and a small
population of the rare black rhino. The beautiful colors and dancing clouds make the crater
almost surreal. Because of its natural beauty, the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s
Seven Natural Wonders. In the late afternoon, you drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Departure
On your last safari day, you go a 2-hours walking tour in farming town Mto wa Mbu. This
village is unique in Tanzania since it is home to over 120 different tribes from across Africa and
forms a colorful mix of languages and customs. Your walking guide will take you to rice and
banana plantations, a local beer factory, a school, and a carving factory. Discover the traditional
way of life of the villagers. You will later drive to Arusha for lunch, and then continue to
Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure.
