Day 1: Lake Manyara/Mtowambu
After breakfast, you will drive to Mtowambu town on the floor of the Great rift valley, for a
guided village tour. In this small but very busy town where people belonging to all 120 tribes in
Tanzania live together, you will have the opportunity to see the typical daily life of Tanzanians.
Your walking guide who comes from that area will take you to rice and banana plantations where
you will interact with the people working in their farms, you will visit a traditional beer
bar/factory, you will visit a school and carvings factory where the famous “Makonde” use ebony
black wood to carve different statues. You will then continue to Lake Manyara national park for
a game drive with picnic lunch. In this small but very beautiful park with the dense forest, you
will have the opportunity to see lots of monkeys, giraffes, elephants, impalas, dik-dik, flamingos
in the lake, and if you are lucky you may spot the rare tree-climbing lions. You will later
continue to your accommodation place for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, depart with picnic lunch and drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a full day
of game drive. The crater has a good number of lions and cheetahs, and it is another good place
to see the rare black rhino. In the late afternoon continue to Tarangire in the accommodation
place for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Tarangire National Park/Departure
After early breakfast, you will depart for a full day of game drive in Tarangire National Park.
This park has the largest concentration of elephants, often seen bathing in the Tarangire river,
lots of giraffes, monkeys, impalas, and many birds. It is also one of the best places to see lions,
leopards, and lions. In the late afternoon, you return back to Arusha for your departure.
